Job Description
We are working confidentially with a leading hedge fund to identify a strong C#/.NET developer for their operations technology function. This is a role for someone who writes clean, production-grade code and understands why it matters — not someone who assembles frameworks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building production-grade operations technology systems supporting trade lifecycle, settlement, and reconciliation workflows
- Owning system architecture decisions and applying the right design patterns for the problem at hand
- Building high-throughput, reliable systems where performance and correctness are non-negotiable
- Working with large datasets and complex SQL — optimising queries and data access patterns at scale
- Partnering with operations, risk, and trading teams to deliver robust, well-engineered solutions
What We Are Looking For
- Strong C# proficiency — production-grade, clean, and deliberate
- Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and system architecture
- Strong algorithms and data structures — applied instinctively, not theoretically
- Distributed systems experience — consistency, availability, and partition tolerance trade-offs in practice
- Concurrency, multithreading, and memory management at a systems level
- Experience with high-throughput or low-latency systems where performance is a hard requirement
- Strong SQL and large dataset handling capability
Beneficial
- Prior hedge fund or financial services operations technology experience
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle, settlement, or reconciliation systems
- Experience with messaging frameworks — Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent
Location: New York
Compensation: Competitive base + bonus (Advertised is base salary only)
Skills
- c-sharp
- Kafka
- RabbitMQ
