Casting Assistant / Casting Collaborator (Volunteer) – Feature Film
We are seeking a Casting Assistant / Casting Collaborator for the independent feature film “The Struggles of Others”, currently in development for production in Los Angeles (Summer 2027).
This is a volunteer position, ideal for graduates or individuals looking to gain practical experience in casting and independent film production. It offers hands-on involvement in a feature film environment and credit on a professional project.
About the Role
You will work directly with the production team and be added as a Backstage collaborator, giving you access to view and help manage actor submissions.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and organising actor submissions via Backstage
- Assisting with pre-screening self-tapes and showreels
- Helping shortlist actors for consideration
- Supporting basic communication with applicants where required
- Maintaining organised casting notes and tracking talent
Requirements
- Based in or near Los Angeles preferred (due to time zone coordination)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in casting, talent coordination, or film production
- Comfortable reviewing self-taped auditions and actor submissions
- Reliable and professional communication
- Graduates or early-career applicants welcome
No prior professional experience is required, but commitment and responsibility are essential.
