**Senior Software Engineer — Foundational AI (NYC)**
**Mintstage** is exclusively partnering with a top-tier, high-growth startup backed by elite Silicon Valley investors (a16z Speedrun, OpenAI angels). They are building a category-defining, AI-native operating system for a critical global industry.
We are looking for a world-class builder with raw intellectual horsepower to architect production-grade AI agents and multi-step reasoning frameworks. This is a high-agency, foundational role with a direct trajectory to **Head of Engineering**.
**The Mission**
* **Ship AI Agents:** Build multi-step, tool-using agent architectures to automate complex B2B workflows.
* **Wrangle Real Data:** Architect context & memory systems to reason over messy, real-world data.
* **Lead the Stack:** Establish core engineering standards, review code, and design the framework future teams will scale on.
* **Customer-Facing:** Partner directly with enterprise clients to turn ambiguous legacy operations into seamless AI-native systems.
**Your Profile**
* **Shipped to Production:** Proven track record of deploying actual LLM applications and agent frameworks at scale (not just wrappers or prototypes).
* **High Ownership:** Thrives in a high-velocity, intellectually competitive startup environment.
* **Leadership Instincts:** Natural ability to mentor engineers, raise architectural bars, and scale engineering culture.
* **Domain Plus (Bonus):** Background in workflow-heavy sectors like logistics, supply chain, or fintech.
**The Package**
* **Compensation:** $180,000 - $220,000 / year
* **Equity:** Significant foundational equity (0.4% – 0.5%)
* **Perks:** Full medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) retirement.
* **Location:** On-site / In-person preferred in **New York City**.
