Job Description
About Catalyst
Catalyst is building the Robinhood for early-stage startup investing.
Our mission is simple:
We’re making startup investing accessible to everyday people while helping founders raise capital faster through technology.
In just four months we’ve:
• Built a community of 20,000+ founders & investors
• Facilitated over $250,000 in startup funding
We’re looking for ambitious builders who want to help design a product that could fundamentally change venture capital.
About the Role
This isn’t a traditional internship.
You’ll work directly with the founder to design the experience of a fintech platform from the ground up.
Your work won’t disappear into a corporate backlog—it will shape a real product used by thousands of founders and investors.
If you love startups, consumer products, Figma, and solving difficult UX problems, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
• Design high-fidelity UI in Figma (various other UI tools)
• Create intuitive user flows and wireframes
• Improve onboarding and conversion funnels
• Design mobile and desktop experiences
• Build reusable design systems and components
• Conduct user research and usability testing
• Turn founder ideas into polished product experiences
• Collaborate with engineering to ship features
• Help define Catalyst’s overall product vision
We’re Looking For Someone Who
• Has experience with Figma
• Understands UI/UX best practices
• Has a strong portfolio (school projects are welcome)
• Thinks like a product owner—not just a designer
• Loves startups and fast-paced environments
• Takes initiative without being asked
• Communicates ideas clearly
• Wants to build something that matters
Bonus Points
• Experience designing fintech products
• Experience with mobile-first design
• Knowledge of design systems
• Experience with Framer or Webflow
• Experience working with developers
• Understanding of startups or venture capital
Growth Opportunity
As Catalyst grows, exceptional interns will have the opportunity to transition into one of our earliest full-time product leadership positions.
We’re building our founding team—not simply filling internships.
Time Commitment
• Part-time (10–20 hours/week)
• Flexible schedule
• Hybrid in NYC preferred, remote applicants welcome
This is an unpaid internship.
