AI Comedy Hackathon Producer, NYC

Humor Genome NYC is looking for a sharp, reliable producer to help bring an AI + comedy hackathon to life in New York City.

This is a short-term, hands-on role for someone who can help create momentum fast: recruit participants, coordinate finalists, support event logistics, and make the live event feel real, organized, and memorable.

The hackathon is part of Build with Gemma and explores a difficult creative question:

Can AI understand, evaluate, or generate humor in a way that actually feels human?

Online submissions are open now. Finalists will present live in New York City on July 25, 2026.

What you will help with

You may help with:

• Recruiting AI builders, comedians, designers, and creative technologists
• Reaching out to communities, schools, meetups, and creator networks
• Coordinating finalists before the live event
• Helping shape the event-day experience
• Supporting judges, guests, and participants
• Capturing photos, videos, and stories from the event
• Turning a small first event into something that can grow

This is not a passive volunteer listing. I am looking for someone who wants to take ownership, move quickly, and help make the event feel alive.

Strong fit

You might be a strong fit if you are:

• Based in NYC or able to attend the July 25 live event
• Interested in AI, comedy, creativity, community, or live events
• Good at follow-through
• Comfortable reaching out to people
• Organized enough to keep many small moving pieces on track
• Excited by early-stage projects where things are still being built

You do not need to be an AI engineer. You do not need to be a comedian. You do need to care about making the event work.

Compensation

This is a short-term stipend role. The stipend will depend on scope and responsibilities, and we will agree on expectations before you start.
