CTO/Co-Founder or Founding Senior AI Engineer

[Stealth Legaltech] is on a mission to eliminate the billable hour. Every company needs legal. No one needs a law firm. Legal should behave like a system: efficient, predictable, and built to drive deal outcomes rather than rack up hours.

Founders use [Stealth Legaltech] to complete, negotiate, and manage contracts and data rooms, bringing in lawyers only when real expertise is needed. Operators have a more white glove experience: working with AI-leveraged lawyers as business partners to accelerate transactions. Every deal makes the platform smarter, teaching it what terms are standard, where counterparties push back, and what the fastest path to close looks like. The more deals flow through [Stealth Legaltech], the smarter our AI becomes. The beachhead is the first vertical (hospitality); the larger opportunity is consolidating legal demand across entire verticals under a new AI-first law firm model.

The CEO/Founder is an exited founder and GTM exec, former big law attorney, and VC operating partner with four hospitality tech exits. We have design partners ready to sign on, and legal spend in hospitality is approximately $12B annually. We are looking for a technical co-founder or founding engineer who wants to build the AI legal infrastructure layer for an industry that desperately needs it.

Role Description

As founding engineer/technical co-founder, you’ll build the AI legal infrastructure layer from scratch. You’ll own the technical vision, architecture, and the product itself: LLM-driven workflows for completing, negotiating, and managing contracts and data rooms, retrieval over legal and deal corpora, agentic drafting and review, and the evaluation and guardrails a domain with zero tolerance for hallucination demands. You’ll design the data flywheel that makes every deal teach the platform, and you’ll hire and lead the early engineering team as we scale from the beachhead into full verticals. This is a true zero-to-one founding role with cofounder-level ownership and a real voice in product and company strategy.

Qualifications

• You’re an AI nerd. You’ve built and shipped real AI products in production, hands-on with RAG, agents, fine-tuning, and evals, and you know the difference between a demo and a system people trust with high-stakes work.
• You’ve been a technical co-founder or very early engineer before and know what zero-to-one actually costs and how to architect flexibly and affordably
• You want to experiment with the newest tools for doing everything. You’ve been building in an AI-first way for awhile.
• You’re a product visionary, not just an implementer, with strong opinions about what to build and the judgment to know what not to.
• You’re comfortable in ambiguity and in a regulated, high-stakes domain.
• You want ownership over a salary
• Bonus: legal tech, vertical SaaS, or hospitality tech experience.
• Located in or near NY would be great but is not required
