Senior / Staff AI Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Staff AI Engineer to design and build production-grade AI agents that automate complex finance workflows. You will work directly with founders, engineering leadership, and enterprise customers to develop scalable AI systems used by real-world finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy production AI agent systems for enterprise finance workflows.

Develop LLM pipelines, agent orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and verification systems.

Build scalable backend services using Python and cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate directly with CFOs, Controllers, and finance teams to translate business workflows into AI-powered solutions.

Own projects end-to-end across backend, AI infrastructure, and product development.

Create reusable platform components that improve engineering productivity.

Work closely with the CTO and cross-functional engineering team to deliver scalable AI products.

Required Qualifications

CS or Math degree from a top-14 US university (Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, CMU, Princeton, Columbia, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Carnegie Mellon, etc.)

4–12 years of software engineering experience.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building and deploying production AI agent systems.

Published AI/ML research at recognized peer-reviewed conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, or equivalent.

Strong backend engineering experience with distributed systems and scalable infrastructure.

Experience working at high-performance engineering organizations such as Stripe, Uber, Ramp, Robinhood, Plaid, Block, Rippling, Brex, Gusto, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon, or similar.

Daily hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI coding assistants.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders and finance teams.

Must be willing to work onsite five days per week in New York City or relocate.
