Job Description
About Day Job
Day Job is a boutique creative studio with around 30 team members – recently named one of the most innovative companies in the world by Fast Company.
Our work spans brand identity, advertising, product design, web, and more — working with companies like Recess, Fly By Jing, David, Grindr, A24, TBPN, and The BBC.
We’re creative-first, fast-moving, and client-driven. If that sounds fun, keep reading.
The Role
The Project Manager will lead day-to-day project management across website and digital product engagements. Web PM reports into the CTO.
Project Managers keep the engine running. You’ll own the operational side of our web work: SOWs, timelines, budgets, resources, team communication, and delivery. You’re the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, and you take genuine pride in that.
You’ll work in partnership with Creative, Strategy, Development, Operations, and Resourcing to keep web projects moving and you’ll bring that same rigor to helping us scope and kick off new web projects.
We need someone with agency, digital product, or creative technology experience who understands how websites actually get made. From discovery and information architecture through UX/UI design, development, QA, launch, and optimization. Not someone who needs to be told what to do next, someone who’s already three steps ahead.
You don’t need to be a designer or developer. But you need to understand the work, respect the process, and know how to protect the space for great work while keeping everything on track.
What You’ll Do
- Support day-to-day project management across website and digital product engagements, including strategy, UX, design, development, QA, and launch
- Build and maintain timelines, track milestones, and keep deliverables on schedule and on budget
- Track budgets, hours, and scope with precision. Flag risks and propose solutions before they become problems.
- Coordinate across strategy, design, development, content, and production teams to keep everyone aligned without slowing anyone down
- Work with resourcing to plan team staffing across projects
- Source external partners when needed (ex: developers, animators, content specialists, technical consultants) and hold those relationships to a high standard
- Prepare and manage client-facing materials (status updates, timelines, delivery schedules, launch plans). Serve as a reliable point of contact for day-to-day project logistics
- Facilitate QA, testing, launch readiness, and deployment coordination across teams
- Keep a pulse on project health and proactively communicate status to team leads and leadership
- Help improve workflows — if something in our process isn’t working, help fix it
Who You Are
- 3–6+ years of experience in project management, production, digital operations, web production. We need someone who’s lived the agency workflow, including multiple clients, fast timelines, shifting priorities, all at once.
- You have direct experience managing website or digital product projects and understand what it takes to move a project from discovery through launch.
- You’re a connector of people and love bringing ambitious digital experiences to life.
- You have strong instincts around scope, budgets, timelines, and contracts and are not afraid to clearly and directly flag issues before they become fires.
- You’re strategic, not just reactive. You think about how to make the process better, not just how to survive the week.
- You’re comfortable in the room with prospective clients. You’re confident, polished, and good at reading what people need.
- You communicate with clarity and warmth, whether it’s a first reply to an inbound lead or a status update to a long-standing client.
- You have great taste and a strong understanding of modern digital experiences.
Nice To Have
- An established network of freelance developers, technical partners, QA specialists, animators, and digital production vendors
- Experience supporting or leading new business development at a creative agency or digital studio
- Familiarity with web platforms such as Webflow, Shopify, WordPress, Framer, or headless CMS ecosystems
- Familiarity with awards programs relevant to digital design and web experiences
- Fluency or familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Float, Asana, Linear, Notion)
