Design Operations Childrens Apparel

We are working on a design ops role with a top company in NYC. Role is working on childrenswear apparel but can come from mens or womens as well.

• Full-time hours - 5 days a week - 4 onsite and 1 remote in midtown NYC.
• Great opportunity to get into a top company with possible room to grow.
• The focus is on creating and maintaining tech packs in FlexPLM and Illustrator, updating product information throughout development, and supporting the design team with technical execution.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of apparel garment construction, fabrics, trims, and the overall product development process. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working in PLM rather than someone focused on designing collections.
• Hourly pay rate is $40 an hour - need help thru end of Nov but could potentially become permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Creating detailed tech packs
• Generating BOMs
• Collaborate with Production Artist for final PLM tech packs
• Modify and create Illustrator manufacturing and detail pages
• Assist in building worksheets
• Assist in crating production ready woven and knit technical layouts based on fabric construction and yarn counts.
• Assist in sample and fit meetings
• Update PLM info

Required Qualifications:

• Comprehensive understanding of Product Development cycle and all milestones
• Working knowledge of garment construction
• technical knowledge of fabric qualities, construction and finishes
• Proficient in PLM and Adobe
• Ability to work in a fast paced enviroment
• 3-5 years or more experience
• Bachelors Degree in apparel fashion
