Job Description
Shopify Developer – Theme Customization & Design QA
SkinCentrick is looking for a hands-on Shopify Developer to help us improve, correct, and maintain our Shopify ecommerce websites.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of Shopify theme-level work, design-to-development implementation, responsive fixes, and final QA. This is not a basic Shopify admin role. We need someone who can understand design references, identify discrepancies, fix them cleanly, and communicate professionally without repeated follow-ups.
Responsibilities
- Audit our existing Shopify website pages and identify design, layout, responsiveness, and functionality issues.
- Implement Shopify theme changes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON templates, sections, blocks, and metafields.
- Fix design discrepancies between approved design references and the live Shopify website.
- Ensure pages look polished across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Customize product pages, collection pages, homepage sections, header, footer, cart, menus, and reusable content blocks.
- Work safely on duplicate/backup themes before publishing changes.
- Check theme behavior after app integrations or custom code changes.
- Improve page structure, spacing, alignment, typography, mobile responsiveness, and user experience.
- Maintain clear communication with task status, screenshots, and completed-change summaries.
- Deliver work with proper QA instead of requiring repeated corrections.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on Shopify theme development experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Shopify Liquid.
- Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design skills.
- Experience with Shopify sections, blocks, templates, metafields, product pages, collection pages, cart, header, and footer customization.
- Ability to interpret design files, screenshots, or design references and convert them into accurate Shopify pages.
- Ability to troubleshoot layout issues, mobile issues, app conflicts, and theme bugs.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of pixel-level design QA.
- Must communicate clearly and take ownership of delivery.
Good to Have
- Experience with beauty, skincare, D2C, ecommerce, or premium consumer brands.
- Experience working with Figma, Motiff, or similar design handoff tools.
- Experience with Shopify Markets, multi-country stores, currency/localization, SEO basics, speed optimization, and conversion-focused ecommerce UX.
- Basic knowledge of Shopify Search & Discovery, filters, product metafields, and collection organization.
Important
- We are not looking for someone who only installs apps or edits content in Shopify admin. We need a developer who can fix the actual theme and frontend experience.
