Are you an experienced consulting leader with expertise in Evaluation, Measurement & Verification (EM&V) , AI and advanced analytics?

We’re looking for an Associate Director – AI & Data to lead strategic consulting engagements for commercial energy providers, helping organisations transform the way they evaluate, optimise and deliver energy efficiency and demand-side management programmes.

The Opportunity

As an Associate Director, you’ll lead large-scale consulting engagements focused on AI-driven evaluation of utility programmes, while driving business growth and developing long-term client partnerships.

Working closely with executive stakeholders, you’ll oversee multidisciplinary teams delivering advanced analytics across energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy, electrification and decarbonisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex EM&V consulting engagements from strategy through implementation.
• Design and oversee evaluation methodologies for utility programmes.
• Deliver AI and advanced analytics solutions that improve programme performance.
• Build trusted relationships with executive clients and industry stakeholders.
• Drive business development, proposals and strategic growth opportunities.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of consultants, engineers and data specialists.
• Present technical findings and translate them into clear business recommendations.
• Mentor team members while contributing to practice growth and thought leadership.
• Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and industry trends to deliver innovative client solutions.

About You

You’ll be an experienced consulting leader with a strong background in energy programme evaluation and AI-driven analytics.

You’ll ideally have:

• 7+ years’ experience within the energy industry.
• 5+ years leading Demand Side Management (DSM) or EM&V programme evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of energy efficiency, demand response, renewable energy, EV, electrification and decarbonisation programmes.
• Experience using Python, R, SQL or similar analytical programming languages.
• Experience with GitHub, AI-assisted coding tools and modern data visualisation platforms including Power BI, R Shiny or Dash.
• Commercial consulting experience with proven business development success.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams.

Desirable

• AI and Machine Learning experience.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• AI or Large Language Model (LLM) certifications.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
