Telecom Network Engineer SME (IMS Core and Subscriber & Signalling)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, integrate, and commission Nokia IMS Core (IPTEL) and Subscriber & Signaling (SSP) products in 4G/5G production environments.
• Execute end-to-end deployment, software upgrades, patching, and migration activities for Nokia SBC, VNF, CNF, and CNCS products.
• Perform installation, integration, testing, and validation of Nokia network nodes across IMS, EPC, and 5G Core networks.
• Support VNF/CNF onboarding, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting on Kubernetes, CBIS, and CBAM platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot IMS Core and Subscriber & Signaling products including SBC, HSS, HLR, UDM, AUSF, EIR, NDS, and SDL.
• Conduct protocol-level troubleshooting using SIP, Diameter, MAP/CAMEL, SIGTRAN, HTTP/2 (5G SBI), and analyze call flows using Wireshark and TCPDUMP.
• Prepare HLD/LLD reviews, CIQ documents, Method of Procedure (MOP), rollback plans, and implementation documentation.
• Perform E2E testing, regression testing, UAT support, and post-deployment KPI validation.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support, perform RCA, resolve production issues, and coordinate with customer, NOC, and vendor teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities for internal teams.

Must Have

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Nokia IMS Core (IPTEL) and/or Subscriber & Signaling (SSP) deployment and integration.
• Strong experience with Nokia SBC (Session Border Controller).
• Hands-on experience with VNF, CNF, and CNCS products.
• Experience with at least one Subscriber & Signalling product: HSS, HLR, UDM, AUSF, EIR, NDS, or SDL.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for CNF deployment and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Nokia software deployment, upgrades, migration, and integration activities.
• Strong knowledge of SIP, Diameter, IMS, VoLTE, EPC, and 5G Core technologies.
• Experience with protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark and TCPDUMP.
• Experience in production support, incident management, and RCA.
• Minimum 2 end-to-end Nokia production deployment projects.

Good to Have

• Experience with CBIS (CloudBand Infrastructure Software) and CBAM (CloudBand Application Manager).
• Hands-on experience with OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder).
• Knowledge of CFX, TAS, and MRF Nokia IMS products.
• Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, or Robot Framework for deployment automation.
• Knowledge of 5G SBI, HTTP/2, Nausf, Nudm, and Service-Based Architecture (SBA).
• Experience with NetAct/TNMS.
• Exposure to Helm Charts, container lifecycle management, and Kubernetes administration.
• Experience working with Tier-1 telecom operators such as AT&T, Verizon, Airtel, Vodafone, or T-Mobile.
• Knowledge of IPsec, TLS, and SRTP security protocols.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
