Job Description

Job Background

The company is preparing to launch a large-scale, all-ages indoor entertainment and activity centre in Melbourne, with an anticipated opening around September. Designed for children, families and adult visitors, the venue will offer a wide range of interactive play, sports, and adventure experiences in a safe, engaging, and family-friendly environment.

The centre will feature seven major activity zones, including a toddler play area, inflatable castle zone, trampoline and obstacle course area, football and basketball courts, climbing area, go-karting zone, and adventure-based activity zone. In addition, the venue will include dedicated party rooms to host birthday parties, group events, and private celebrations.

As the business prepares for its grand opening, a professional and customer-focused team is needed to support daily operations, guest experience, safety management, event coordination, and long-term business growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of a large-scale indoor entertainment venue, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient site management across all activity areas.
  • Support pre-opening operational preparation, including staff rostering, training plans, safety procedures, customer service standards, and area management processes.
  • Lead, supervise, and support Supervisors and frontline venue staff, ensuring clear communication, strong teamwork, and consistent service delivery.
  • Manage staff rosters, labour cost control, team training, performance feedback, and day-to-day workforce coordination.
  • Monitor the operation, safety, cleanliness, and guest experience standards across seven activity zones, including toddler play, inflatable play, trampolines, sports courts, climbing, go-karting, and adventure activities.
  • Handle customer complaints, operational incidents, staff issues, and on-site emergencies in a calm, professional, and solution-focused manner.
  • Oversee the service standards and operational processes for Party Room bookings, including birthday parties, group events, and private functions.
  • Prepare regular operational reports for business owners, covering visitor traffic, staffing, customer feedback, safety incidents, operational challenges, and improvement recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • Previous management experience in a play centre, trampoline park, family entertainment centre, sports venue, hospitality, retail, or other customer-facing service environment.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate with customers, team members, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese are highly preferred for the Venue Director role; Chinese language skills are desirable but not essential for the Assistant Manager role.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate rosters, deliver staff training, provide performance feedback, and maintain high operational standards.
  • Pre-opening, venue launch, or new business setup experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong customer service mindset, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • A valid Working with Children Check is preferred; candidates who do not currently hold one may apply for it after receiving an offer.
