Role Description

This is a full-time Jr/Sr Python Backend Developer role focused on building and maintaining scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, and AWS. The position is hybrid, based in Hyderabad, with flexibility for some work-from-home. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing RESTful APIs, integrating with databases and third-party services, and ensuring performance, security, and reliability of backend systems. The developer will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA to deliver new features and enhancements for the WhatsCom platform and related services. Additional responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to architecture decisions and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Back-End Web Development skills, including building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on Software Development experience with Python, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in Programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
• Experience working with Databases (SQL/NoSQL), query optimization, and ORM frameworks.
• Practical experience with AWS (e.g., Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, API Gateway) and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
• Ability to write unit and integration tests and work within automated testing environments.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional, hybrid teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in messaging platforms, conversational AI, or high-traffic distributed systems is an advantage.
