Senior Network Security Engineer

• Hybrid Role (Onsite for the first few weeks during onboarding and training, then transitioning to a hybrid schedule)
• Long-Term Contract

We’re working with a leading financial services organization in Manhattan that is looking to add a hands-on Senior Network Security Engineer to its infrastructure team.

This position is heavily focused on enterprise firewall administration and network security operations within a complex, mission-critical environment. You’ll be responsible for securing and supporting the firm’s network infrastructure, managing data center activities, and collaborating closely with vendors and internal technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise firewalls, switches, and routers

• Administer and optimize Check Point, Fortinet, F5, and related security technologies

• Support network operations, data center inventory management, and patch panel activities

• Implement firewall changes and security policies aligned with enterprise security standards

• Manage hardware lifecycle activities for network equipment

• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2 issues, including STP, NAC, and 802.1x/EAP authentication

• Support routing and switching environments across Cisco ASR, Nexus, and Catalyst platforms

• Diagnose network and application issues using TCP/IP analysis tools including Wireshark and tcpdump

• Administer DNS services using Infoblox and support secure web gateway technologies

• Coordinate with network vendors and provide support during maintenance windows and off-hours as required

Requirements:

✔ 4+ years of enterprise network security experience

✔ Strong hands-on experience with Check Point, Fortinet, F5, and enterprise firewall technologies

✔ Experience with Cisco ASR, Nexus, and Catalyst environments

✔ Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols

✔ Deep understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, Layer 2 networking, and security troubleshooting

✔ Experience supporting data center infrastructure and network operations

✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-availability enterprise environment
