Sr Software Engineer - Backend (Full Stack) - AI Platform - Bangalore

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend proficiency to join an Agent Development Squad building AI-powered financial close automation for a global enterprise SaaS product. You will own Python backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power AI agents in production. Full stack delivery is expected backend is the primary strength, with Angular frontend contributions when needed.

This is a hands-on IC engineering role on a hybrid team (3 days/week in-office) in Bangalore.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Python and FastAPI
• Design and implement async task processing using Redis/Celery or equivalent message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS) for agent job execution
• Own data layer design PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, and query optimisation for agent state and audit data
• Containerise services using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes (AKS) environments
• Contribute to API contract design — OpenAPI specifications, versioning, and inter-service communication
• Make frontend fixes and contribute to Angular UI features when needed
• Lead low-level design — data models, component design, API contracts, sequence diagrams; expected to articulate and defend design trade-offs in sprint planning and design sessions

What We Are Looking For

Must Have:

• 5+ years of backend or full stack software engineering experience
• Production-grade Python proficiency with FastAPI or equivalent async REST framework
• PostgreSQL at production level — schema design, indexing, query optimisation, migrations
• Redis + Celery or equivalent async queuing system (RabbitMQ, SQS)
• REST API design — OpenAPI contracts, versioning, microservice communication patterns
• Docker for containerising Python services
• Kubernetes at working level — deployments, config maps, services, resource management
• Angular at working capability for frontend fixes and UI contributions
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline integration
• Low-level system design — ability to design service components from first principles

Good to Have:

• Exposure to LangChain / LangGraph or LLM/agent integration
• OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / IDP integration experience
• API Gateway patterns — authentication, rate limiting, routing
• Comfort working in an AI-native engineering environment
