Job Description
Practice at the top of your license in advanced wound care
TruMend Wound Care delivers advanced bedside wound management across private homes, assisted living and memory care communities, and skilled nursing facilities. This is focused, procedure-driven, outcomes-based specialty practice, not primary care. We are expanding in the Phoenix market and adding a Nurse Practitioner who wants real autonomy, a procedural focus, and measurable clinical impact.
Why this role stands apart
- Specialty-focused practice in advanced wound management, with lower volume and higher clinical depth
- A meaningful procedural component, including debridement, treatment planning, and modality selection
- Full practice autonomy in the field, backed by collaborative physician support
- Flexible scheduling that fits around your existing commitments
- Mileage reimbursement for field travel
- A part-time start with a clear path to full-time for strong performers
- Growth opportunity inside a premium, rapidly expanding specialty platform
Position overview
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive wound assessment, procedural intervention, and longitudinal care management where patients live. You function as the clinical lead in the field, directing evidence-based wound protocols and coordinating interdisciplinary care with facilities, home health partners, and referring providers.
Core responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive wound evaluations and build individualized treatment plans
- Conduct bedside procedures, including sharp debridement, wound culture collection, and biologic or advanced dressing selection
- Manage complex wounds, including pressure injuries (Stage I to IV), diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, and venous and arterial ulcers
- Prescribe wound-related medications and adjunct therapies
- Coordinate care with referral partners and collaborating physician support
- Document consistent with regulatory and payer requirements
- Educate facility staff, patients, and families on prevention and care plans
- Monitor healing progress and adjust interventions accordingly
Who this is for
This role fits a Nurse Practitioner who is confident performing bedside procedures, comfortable practicing independently in the field, fluent in payer documentation requirements, and motivated by measurable outcomes and clinical accountability. It suits someone who wants a focused specialty over broad primary care.
Who this is not for
This is not a fit for candidates who prefer clinic-based primary care, are uncomfortable with procedures, require constant on-site supervision, or want high-volume, rapid-turnover patient panels.
Required qualifications
- Active Arizona NP license in good standing
- National board certification (FNP, AGNP, or applicable certification)
- DEA registration, or the ability to obtain one
- 3+ years of clinical experience
- Experience in home health, SNF, or post-acute environments
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
- Comfort with independent, field-based clinical decision-making
Preferred qualifications
- Wound care certification (WCC, CWCN, CWS, or equivalent)
- Procedural wound care and debridement experience
- Experience managing advanced wound modalities
- Familiarity with value-based and post-acute documentation
Compensation and schedule
- $75.00 per hour, paid as a 1099 independent contractor
- Part-time to start, with a 60 to 90 day trial period
- Strong performers are offered a full-time position at the end of the trial
- Mileage reimbursement for field travel
- Flexible scheduling
Pay: $75.00 per hour
