Senior Graphic Designer

SUMMARY: This position involves developing innovative concepts and creating visually compelling communications that effectively convey messages in an engaging and aesthetically pleasing way. The role also includes refining designs to ensure client satisfaction and success. Additionally, the individual in this position supports the Associate Creative Director by managing internal tasks and priorities while coordinating with clients to meet their needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs original print and digital pieces including but not limited to websites, brand collateral, slide presentations, video graphics, exhibit graphics, direct mail, and email/newsletters.
• Lead the creation of client visual identities, including logo marks, color palettes, typography, and brand guidelines, translating brand strategy into distinctive, consistent, and scalable design across all touchpoints.
• Applies brand style guide elements ensuring consistency with brand positioning.
• Translates project objectives and creates solutions that combine functionality and aesthetics.
• Collaborates as a team player, works proactively with multiple stakeholders.
• Supports the Associate Creative Director as a point of contact for some clients with design-based accounts.
• Supports the Associate Creative Director in the coordination of and adherence to internal processes to ensure the timely and successful delivery of requests according to customer needs and objectives.
• Works smart and effectively, handles multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
• Continuously seeks to improve the company’s approach to design by keeping up-to-date and familiar with consumer trends, best practices, digital advancements, and competitor activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, and three to five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills required: Apple hardware and OS; Adobe Creative Suite (primarily but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and Adobe Acrobat; Figma; Canva; Google G-Suite (primarily Slides and Docs); Microsoft 365 (primarily Outlook and PowerPoint)

Other skills required:

• An eye for layout, typography, color, message hierarchy, and content readability with a rich portfolio of work examples in a variety of mediums to support that.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
• Resourceful and creative thinker who has the ability to visualize the clients needs and translate them into great designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to articulate their creative decisions and process within a project.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a drive for process, consistency, and neatness.
• Dedicated professional with a strong work ethic- committed to developing their own work and having the initiative to accept and seek out feedback.
• Curious, passionate, and open to learning new skills; having the creativity and confidence to independently explore new concepts in pursuit of the best solution to a design challenge.
• Experience with marketing automation tools, social media, and CMS (especially WordPress) is a plus.
