Job Description

Position: Systems Architect / Chief Systems Architect

Type: Contract

Compensation: $150 - $300/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Design realistic engineering projects requiring architectural decisions across multiple disciplines.
  • Translate project objectives into system architectures with defined boundaries and technical constraints.
  • Break complex architectural problems into connected tasks with defined inputs and deliverables.
  • Coordinate contributions from domain experts and establish clear technical objectives.
  • Improve AI systems’ reasoning about architecture, interfaces, dependencies, and engineering trade-offs.

Requirements

  • Substantial professional experience as a Systems Architect or in a comparable technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience owning the architecture of complex engineering systems and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong expertise in system architecture design, technical trade studies, and interface management.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering, SysML, or architecture modelling tools.
