Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Network Engineer to provide engineering, technical leadership, and ownership across our global network infrastructure.

This role is responsible for the reliability, security, performance, and evolution of our network environment, including Cisco Meraki, Cisco VPN, SDWAN, LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls, internet connectivity, Azure networking, and related services.

The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on networking expertise with architecture and design, advanced troubleshooting, project delivery, automation, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Network Engineering & Operations

Provide hands-on administration, engineering, and technical support across LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, firewalls, internet connectivity, and cloud networking.

Manage and optimize Cisco Meraki switching, routing, wireless, and security infrastructure, along with Cisco VPN technologies.

Monitor and continuously improve network availability, performance, capacity, security, and resilience.

Lead the technical response and resolution of complex or critical global network outages, coordinating internal teams and technology partners to restore services, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.

Maintain network configurations, diagrams, documentation, monitoring, and recovery procedures.

Architecture & Project Delivery

Design and implement secure, resilient, scalable, and supportable network solutions across offices, manufacturing facilities, cloud environments, and remote connectivity.

Develop network architecture standards, reference designs, configuration baselines, and engineering best practices.

Lead network design and implementation for new sites, expansions, modernization, cloud connectivity, and infrastructure projects.

Evaluate technology options and recommend solutions based on business requirements, security, reliability, performance, cost, and supportability.

Ensure new solutions incorporate appropriate redundancy, security, monitoring, documentation, and operational readiness.

Technical Leadership & Ownership

Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for enterprise networking.

Define and drive network architecture, technical standards, best practices, lifecycle strategy, and technology roadmap.

Proactively identify and lead improvements in security, resilience, performance, automation, visibility, and cost efficiency.

Provide technical direction to internal teams and technology partners and drive complex technical issues through resolution.

Evaluate evolving network and cloud technologies and recommend solutions that deliver meaningful business and operational value.

Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience.

Strong experience with Cisco Meraki, switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, VPN, LAN/WAN, and internet connectivity.

Experience designing and supporting multi-site network environments, including new office, manufacturing plant, or facility implementations.

Strong knowledge of routing, switching, network segmentation, firewalls, VPN, security, and network resiliency.

Working knowledge of Azure networking and cloud connectivity.

Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, network monitoring, and performance management skills.

Experience designing and implementing network solutions, not only administering existing environments.

Ability to develop technical designs, architecture diagrams, standards, documentation, and operational procedures.

Exposure to network automation and scripting is desirable.

Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership in a lean IT environment.

Preferred Certifications

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent advanced networking certification

Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate

Other relevant Cisco, Meraki, cloud networking, or network security certifications are desirable.

Certifications are preferred; demonstrated hands-on engineering capability, technical judgment, and ownership are equally important.
