For a newly established role, we are looking for a commercially minded, analytical and action-oriented Commercial Decarbonisation Manager to turn evolving environmental regulations and customer decarbonisation ambitions into practical solutions that reduce maritime emissions across our customers’ supply chains.

The role combines environmental regulatory strategy, commercial development of low-carbon freight solutions and customer engagement. • Turn opportunities into executable solutions: Work closely with colleagues in Sustainable Energy Solutions and with Chartering, Operations, Technical and other relevant stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements and customer demand into solutions that can be delivered within real-world dry bulk operations.

  • Experience in sustainability, decarbonisation, environmental regulation, low-carbon energy, environmental markets, shipping, logistics, commodities or consulting. Shipping experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to read, understand and translate complex environmental regulations and voluntary frameworks, such as FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, IMO regulations and SBTi, into clear commercial and operational implications and executable actions.
  • Able to connect regulation, decarbonisation opportunities and customer needs, including Scope 3 reduction targets and emerging green freight initiatives, and identify opportunities for commercially viable low-carbon freight solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage with customers, present solutions and bring together commercial and specialist teams to turn opportunities into action.

Attributes, Personality

  • Commercially minded, analytical and action-oriented.
  • Intellectually curious and able to learn quickly.
  • Comfortable working in new and evolving areas where solutions are not always predefined, including the commercial and operational realities of dry bulk shipping.
