Software Developer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Developer to support a company focused on securing and maintaining mission-critical cloud and infrastructure environments within highly regulated air-gapped environments. This position is on-site in Reston, VA, with up to 50% remote work available . The Software Developer will own, deploy, and maintain firmware deployment infrastructure across Azure and bare-metal environments while ensuring alignment with enterprise deployment standards and operational requirements. This is an opportunity to directly support critical infrastructure by driving firmware deployment strategy, troubleshooting deployment issues, and improving operational readiness across secure cloud environments.

Responsibilities for the Software Developer include:

• Own, deploy, and maintain firmware deployment infrastructure across Azure and bare-metal environments.
• Design, build, test, and support deployment agents while executing end-to-end firmware deployment cycles for multiple hardware and firmware components.
• Monitor deployment performance, analyze logs, troubleshoot failures, and mitigate deployment-related incidents across large-scale environments.
• Develop and standardize Kusto queries, dashboards, and reporting solutions to support deployment visibility and operational decision-making.
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting deployment infrastructure, live-site incidents, server troubleshooting, and service reliability initiatives.

Required Qualifications for the Software Developer include:

• 5+ years of experience supporting large-scale systems administration, cloud infrastructure, or deployment engineering environments.
• Experience with Azure Services, Kusto Query Language (KQL), PowerShell, PKI, and firmware or software deployment technologies.
• Strong object-oriented programming experience with the ability to troubleshoot and automate complex deployment and operational workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Compensation for the Software Developer include: Salary Range: Depending on experience
