Azure PreSales Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Architecture
• Own technical solution design across Azure Infrastructure, Cloud Security, Data & AI, Modern Work, and Azure VMware Solution (AVS) opportunities.
• Design Azure Landing Zones, hub-and-spoke and Virtual WAN networks, migration architectures, and DR /business-continuity solutions aligned to the Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
• Produce reference architectures, architecture diagrams, and bills of materials that delivery teams can execute against without rework.
• Make defensible architectural decisions and flag assumptions and risks clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Presales & Technical Sales
• Lead technical discovery workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with enterprise customers across MENA and Africa.
• Build effort estimates, scope statements, and SOWs; provide technical input into commercial pricing and proposals.
• Author proposals, pitch decks, and technical responses to RFPs / RFIs — translating requirements into clear, costed Azure solutions.
• Present and defend solutions to executive and technical audiences, and run product / capability demonstrations and PoCs.
• Partner Ecosystem & Enablement
• Engage Microsoft field stakeholders and co-sell motions; align solutions to Azure incentive programs,

designations, and Advanced Specializations.

• Maintain a reusable library of reference architectures, estimation models, proposal templates, and technical collateral.
• Stay current on the Azure roadmap, Microsoft Fabric, Sentinel / Defender, and Copilot, and bring new capabilities into CloudGate’s offerings.

What you Bring:

• 7+ years in cloud / IT, with mandatory recent experience in an Azure presales, solution architecture, or technical consulting role — this is non-negotiable.
• Demonstrable track record designing and presenting Azure solutions across infrastructure, networking, security, or data & AI for enterprise customers.
• Hands-on depth in core Azure services — compute, networking (VNets, VPN/ExpressRoute, Firewall, routing), identity (Entra ID), storage, and governance — without needing line-by-line hand-holding.
• Strong grasp of Azure Landing Zones and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep), and of the Cloud Adoption and Well-Architected Frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead discovery workshops, build effort estimates, and write proposals, SOWs, and RFP responses.
• Excellent written and spoken English; clean, structured, executive-ready communication and the presence to lead customer-facing sessions.
• Azure certifications — AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert) strongly preferred; AZ-104 or equivalent expected.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Self-directed and deadline-driven — comfortable owning multiple opportunities end-to-end in a remote setting.

Good to have :

• Experience at a Microsoft partner, cloud services provider, or systems integrator, with exposure to co-sell and Microsoft incentive programs.
• Specialist depth in Azure VMware Solution (HCX, vSAN, NSX-T), Microsoft Sentinel / Defender, Microsoft Fabric & AI, or M365 E5 security assessments.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud (AWS or GCP) for comparative and consolidation conversations.
• Working knowledge of FinOps and Azure cost optimization for TCO and pricing discussions.
• Arabic language skills (an advantage for regional engagements and proposals).
• Prior solution delivery for banking, energy, telco, manufacturing, or public sector audiences in MENA or Africa.
