Risk & Assurance Manager

Our client is looking for a Risk and Assurance Manager to embed a newly introduced risk policy and register across 10 departments. You will work with senior leaders to identify and manage risks, and give the Audit and Risk Committee and Board of Trustees a clear view of the organisation’s biggest risks and what is being done about them. You will also lead the rollout and ongoing development of the compliance, assurance and business continuity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Embed the risk policy across all 10 departments and establish a regular review cycle with senior leaders.
• Own the organisation-wide risk register, keeping risk assessments, owners and agreed actions up to date.
• Lead risk reviews with department heads to identify emerging risks, challenge assessments and agree how to address them.
• Coach senior leaders on applying the policy and escalating risks that need a decision.
• Implement and improve the compliance and assurance frameworks so leaders can see where controls are working and where action is needed.
• Develop the business continuity framework and coordinate the review and testing of departmental plans.
• Prepare and present reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and Board of Trustees, explaining changes in key risks, overdue actions and decisions needed.
