Full Stack Developer

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in developing and maintaining team coaching applications across multiple projects.

The role will focus primarily on frontend development using React, backend and API development using Python and AWS, and providing development support for mobile applications built with React Native.

The position reports directly to the Director of Software Engineering.

Sport Performance Lab is a research and development team focused on driving performance and delivering wins for its professional sports teams. The team is looking for individuals who are eager to learn, adaptable, and comfortable collaborating within a diverse and multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web application features using React, following modern DevOps practices and security standards.
• Design, implement, and support APIs to integrate frontend and backend systems, leveraging Python and AWS services.
• Provide development support for iOS applications built with React Native.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security, and reliability.
• Support backend development activities using Python, ensuring application stability and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application engineering teams to define metadata layers, technical strategies, and efficient integrations across the existing technology landscape.
• Develop and implement testing solutions, including automated testing, to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Provide high-level effort estimates and contribute to project planning, scoping, technical discussions, and prioritization.
• Create, maintain, and contribute to technical documentation covering engineering best practices, tools, and frameworks.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in full stack software development.
• Hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend and API development.
• Familiarity with AWS services and their integration into backend systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, including the ability to review and validate AI-generated code.
• Knowledge of React Native or a strong interest in developing mobile applications.
• Understanding of software security best practices and microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to take projects from requirements gathering and technical scoping through development and product launch.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including version control, code reviews, testing, and production operations.
• Experience collaborating with backend developers to design and integrate APIs and web services.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience developing applications using Swift.
• Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, InVision, or Adobe XD.
• Experience working with sports data or knowledge of the sports industry.
• Interest in or experience with data visualization techniques and libraries for presenting complex statistics.
• Basic understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience handling confidential data and sensitive information.
