Role Description As a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test at TestVagrant Technologies, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust test automation frameworks and tools for complex, distributed systems. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Bengaluru South, with flexibility for partial work from home. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and DevOps engineers to define test strategies, engineer testability, and ensure comprehensive coverage across APIs, back-end services, web and mobile applications, and data pipelines. Your day-to-day work includes reviewing requirements, designing test approaches, writing high-quality test code, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring quality metrics to drive continuous improvement. You will mentor and guide other engineers in automation best practices, code quality, and modern testing techniques, while championing an engineering mindset toward quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong automation expertise across Web, Mobile, API, and test architecture (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Playwright/ WebdriverlO/ Rest Assured, CI/CD pipelines, and modern test frameworks
• Solid testing fundamentals with a risk-based, quality-first mindset
• Experience applying Al-powered tools and workflows in quality engineering
• Strong communicator and leader, comfortable working with teams and clients
