Expert/Senior Embedded Software Application Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Expert Embedded Software Application Engineer to join our automotive engineering team in Göteborg, Sweden. The ideal candidate will be a recognized technical leader with extensive experience in embedded software development, system engineering, testing, and technical mentorship. You will play a key role in defining technical roadmaps, leading development activities, ensuring product quality, and influencing engineering excellence across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional development including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, verification, and documentation.
• Drive system engineering activities and integrate technical deliveries across teams.
• Develop expertise within domains such as Vehicle Systems, HMI, Powertrain, Electromobility, Diagnostics, Mechatronics, Control Theory, or Engine After-treatment.
• Define and execute testing strategies for embedded software platforms.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and safety requirements.
• Utilize automation frameworks and testing tools to improve quality and efficiency.
• Identify, track, and resolve software defects through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, business development initiatives, and organizational capability building.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Embedded Software Engineering.
• Strong background in automotive embedded systems.
• Experience in software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and verification.
• Expertise in system engineering and software integration.
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of embedded software testing methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
