Java Developer with AI

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer with hands-on AI/GenAI experience to design, develop, and deliver scalable backend applications and AI-powered solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems, along with practical experience in integrating AI/GenAI and Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications.

Hands-on experience building and integrating AI/GenAI solutions will be a key differentiator for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain Microservices and RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
• Develop and integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into backend applications.
• Work with LLMs, GenAI APIs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and prompt engineering.
• Integrate AI services such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or equivalent platforms.
• Develop AI-powered features such as chatbots, AI assistants, intelligent search, document processing, summarization, and classification.
• Design solutions using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and vector databases where applicable.
• Work with databases, caching, messaging systems, and third-party integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement scalable and reliable solutions.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, AI/ML engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in the complete SDLC from requirements analysis through deployment and production support.

Required Skills & Experience

Java Backend

• 712 years of hands-on experience in backend Java development.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable backend architecture.

AI / GenAI

• Hands-on experience with AI/Generative AI projects is required.
• Experience integrating LLMs/GenAI capabilities into backend applications.

• Strong understanding or practical experience with one or more of:

• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• Prompt Engineering
• LLM APIs
• Embeddings
• Vector Databases / Vector Search
• AI-powered Chatbots / Assistants
• Semantic Search
• Document Intelligence

• AI Agents / Agentic Workflows

• Experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Spring AI, or equivalent.
• Understanding of LLM context management, hallucination mitigation, and responsible AI practices.

Database, Cloud & Messaging

• Good experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.

• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform:

• AWS
• Azure

• GCP

• Experience integrating enterprise and third-party APIs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with vector databases/search technologies such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, OpenSearch, Weaviate, or similar.
• Exposure to MLOps / LLMOps.
• Understanding of AI security, governance, and responsible AI.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience developing large-scale enterprise applications.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a strong Java backend engineer with practical, hands-on AI/GenAI experience. The candidate should be capable of independently developing backend services while contributing to the design and implementation of modern AI-powered enterprise solutions.

Strong hands-on AI/GenAI project experience will be a key differentiator for this position.
