The Role

We are seeking a skilled and analytical AI / Machine Learning Engineer to develop, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models and AI-powered applications. In this part-time, fully remote role, you will collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to transform complex data into practical solutions, improve model performance, and support the integration of AI technologies into existing systems.

The ideal candidate combines strong programming skills with a solid understanding of machine learning concepts, data processing, and model evaluation, along with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models for business and technical applications.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze datasets to support reliable model development and experimentation.
• Apply suitable machine learning techniques to classification, prediction, recommendation, or other relevant tasks.
• Develop and improve AI-powered applications, APIs, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into software systems and production environments.
• Evaluate model accuracy, reliability, scalability, and computational efficiency.
• Monitor model performance and help identify data quality issues, performance degradation, and opportunities for improvement.
• Research emerging AI methods, frameworks, and tools to identify practical applications.
• Maintain clear documentation of experiments, model configurations, evaluation results, and implementation decisions.
• Follow responsible AI practices, including attention to data privacy, security, fairness, and model reliability.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience in machine learning, AI engineering, data science, or software development preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with relevant libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data preprocessing, model evaluation, and statistical fundamentals.
• Experience working with structured datasets, APIs, and data processing workflows.
• Familiarity with version control, testing practices, and deploying or integrating machine learning models.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical tasks, and collaborate effectively with remote teams.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certifications are not required.
