Job Description

Content and Operations Asset Manager

Role Purpose:

As Fortnum & Mason continues to grow, our content plays an increasingly important role in helping us reach more people, more often, and in more meaningful ways. From our stores to our digital channels, content connects our craftsmanship, stories and products with customers wherever they are, and at every stage of their journey.

This role is responsible for driving efficiency and value from that content. This includes overseeing budgets, identifying economies of scale, and maximising content opportunities through thoughtful repurposing and reuse across locations and channels. In parallel, the role owns the governance, organisation and day‑to‑day management of Fortnum’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. To support this ambition, the role plans, coordinates and oversees all content requirements across the Fortnum’s stores and digital touchpoints through ownership of a clear, centralised master content schedule.

Acting as the operational control point for content delivery, the role uses an efficient traffic‑light system to track status, dependencies, risk and readiness, ensuring the right content is available, approved and deployed at the right time, in the right place.

Key Interfaces: This role works closely with Brand & Creative, Online Trading, Digital, Hospitality, Campaign, Editorial and Retail teams to coordinate content needs across locations and platforms.

The role also plays an active part in the planning and delivery of content creation within the Food & Drink Studio, working closely with Hatty Cary and Hannah Moyce to ensure production output is aligned to the wider content schedule, priorities and opportunities for reuse.

In addition, the role liaises with external agencies, photographers, production partners and freelancers where required, and works with Digital, IT and Finance teams to support DAM governance, production planning and budget oversight.

Content Scheduling & Oversight

  • Own and maintain a single, central master content schedule covering all Fortnum’s locations and digital touchpoints.
  • Implement and manage a clear traffic‑light system to track content requests, production stages, approvals, delivery and readiness.
  • Ensure photography production timelines are fully aligned to content priorities and delivery plans.
  • Provide visibility across teams on priorities, deadlines, dependencies and risk.
  • Plan content realistically, avoiding clashes, duplication and last‑minute gaps.
  • Act as the central coordination point across campaigns, seasonal activity and evergreen content.

Maximising Content Opportunities

  • Take an active view of how content can be repurposed, re‑cut or re‑spliced across locations, formats and channels.
  • Identify opportunities to extend content life and value through alternative edits, versions, crops or placements.
  • Ensure content is briefed and delivered with reuse in mind, supporting a joined‑up estate and digital approach.
  • Champion smarter use of existing assets to maximise return on production investment.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HFSS requirements and ensure content adheres to regulations where applicable.

Budget Oversight, Production Efficiencies & Economies of Scale

  • Support budget planning and ongoing spend tracking for content production.
  • Monitor spend against plan, flagging risks or pressure points early.
  • Identify and drive production efficiencies in alignment with photography output, including shared shoots, aligned commissioning and smarter use of suppliers and creative agencies.
  • Seek economies of scale across campaigns, channels and locations.
  • Balance cost efficiency with creative quality and brand standards.

Reporting, Analytics & Performance

  • Track and report on content delivery against plan, including timeliness, readiness and deployment across channels.
  • Provide clear, regular status reporting to senior stakeholders, highlighting risks, bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Work with Digital, Online Trading and Copy & Content Strategy teams to understand how content is performing and how it can better support editorial and commercial objectives.
  • Use insight to inform future planning, commissioning decisions and prioritisation.

Wash‑Ups & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead structured wash‑ups following key campaigns and seasonal activity.
  • Capture learning on what worked, where efficiencies were achieved and where improvements are needed.
  • Feed insight back in…
