  • Maintain a detailed understanding of each facility, including credit structure, covenants, security, construction progress and exit strategy.

  • Support senior colleagues on underperforming and higher-risk loans, including information gathering, option analysis, action tracking and implementation.

  • Escalate material risks and issues promptly to senior management and relevant committees.

  • Monitor covenant compliance, facility performance and borrower reporting requirements, ensuring records, trackers and systems remain complete and up to date.

Borrower & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, sponsors, brokers and professional advisers.

  • Manage routine consents, amendments and waivers, and support negotiations on more complex restructurings and settlement agreements.

  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including valuers, quantity surveyors, lawyers, insolvency practitioners and receivers.

  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for borrowers, coordinating queries and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.

Credit & Transaction Management

  • Review and assess requests for facility amendments, extensions and additional funding, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.

  • Prepare clear, well-supported credit papers and recommendations for Committees and other approval forums.

  • Undertake financial and commercial analysis, review professional reports and summarise key points to support portfolio decisions.

  • Support the assessment of refinancing, enforcement and recovery options to maximise investor outcomes.
  • Actively seek feedback and build technical knowledge across credit, documentation and portfolio management.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of portfolio management processes, controls and reporting.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in real estate lending, development finance, portfolio management, credit risk, loan servicing or a related area.

  • Experience managing borrower relationships and assessing loan performance, with exposure to more complex or underperforming situations desirable.

  • Ability to interpret valuation, quantity surveying, legal and financial information.

  • Good understanding of facility documentation, security structures and key credit protections.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
