Location: Remote but commutable to Point Reyes National Seashore, CA for periodic campaign check ins

Type: 6 month contract through June; 10-15 hours a week

Compensation Range: $40-$45/hr W2

The PR Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing focused communications and/or media strategies to help drive nonprofit campaign work at Point Reyes National Seashore. They will help facilitate ongoing communication between project teams and partners, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and proactively identify storytelling needs and media opportunities in collaboration with communication partners across and beyond. They will develop key messages and talking points as needed and may support the project’s community engagement efforts through meetings, webinars, and other methods.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and serve as a communications and media lead for client’s Point Reyes project.
• Work closely with project teams and partners on building a communications plan and identifying milestones and other moments for strategic storytelling opportunities.
• Responsibility and accountability for meeting project goals and objectives.
• Ownership of a complex review process for communications products.
• Regularly report out communications results and activities to internal and external stakeholders.
• Resolve complex issues independently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing and implementing media strategies and measuring results.
• Experience writing, editing and proofreading content for targeted audiences.
• Experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Experience developing media relations networks.
• Experience implementing and managing complex projects.
• Experience developing, implementing, and measuring communication and engagement plans/strategies.
• Bilingual skills appreciated (English and Spanish) a plus. Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
