Job Description

PCB Design Engineer

$60 - $70 per hour (W2)

3 – 6 Month Contract + fully remote

Tampa Bay, FL (Commutable from: St. Petersburg, Largo, Tampa, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Clearwater, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar)

Are you a PCB Designer looking for a contract role where you can take real ownership of complex, mission-critical designs rather than being boxed into repetitive work? Do you want to work on high-speed digital, RF, and analog PCB layouts?

On offer is a 3–6 month contract (with potential to go direct hire) in a senior-level position, supporting a specialist manufacturer designing and delivering solutions for mission-critical applications where performance and reliability matter.

You’ll join a business established in the 1980s, known for its values-led approach and quality-first engineering, and they are expanding the team due to increased workload.

In this role you will produce and maintain PCB layouts and manufacturing outputs (Gerbers, drill plots, fabrication drawings, stack-ups), support schematic capture as directed, maintain CAD libraries/BOMs, and work closely with engineers on producibility, testability, thermal considerations, and ECO execution. Altium experience is essential, and designs will range from single-layer through multi-layer, through-hole, and fine pitch SMT.

This role would suit a PCB Designer looking for a technically stretching, high-ownership contract where your expertise is valued across design, release, and manufacturing support.

The Role:

  • Senior PCB design supporting complex high-speed, RF, and analog designs
  • Interface with engineers, quality, operations, fabricators, and contract manufacturers to optimize designs
  • Monday–Friday, days, 40 hours per week (remote considered)

The Person:

  • Strong PCB layout experience (Altium experience is essential)
  • US Citizenship required and able to obtain/maintain Secret level security clearance
  • Background in digital high-speed, RF, and/or analog PCB designs, including multi-layer and fine pitch SMT
