Job Title: Senior .NET Developer - Front-End UI/UX & Accessibility Location Preference: Iowa-based candidates preferred Duration: 8 months with possible extension Work Mode: Fully Remote/Contract  

Position Overview We are seeking two senior-level developers with strong experience in .NET/C# development, front-end development, UI/UX implementation, and accessibility. The candidates will develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using modern development practices and enterprise design systems.

Accessibility is a core requirement. All deliverables must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 standards. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience and provide code samples or a portfolio showcasing front-end and UI work with their submission.

 

Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using .NET, C#, MVC, and Web Forms.

Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript.

Apply UI/UX best practices, usability principles, responsive design, and design thinking.

Implement and maintain components using Bootstrap, Material, and enterprise design systems.

Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 compliance through accessibility testing and remediation.

Use accessibility tools such as JAWS and axe to identify and resolve accessibility issues.

Develop and maintain REST APIs, middleware integrations, and backend services.

Support SQL Server databases and troubleshoot application issues.

Follow secure coding practices and handle sensitive data according to organizational requirements.

Manage source control, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across enterprise applications.

Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to improve application usability and accessibility.

 

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong hands-on experience with .NET and C# development.

Strong front-end development skills in HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript.

Demonstrated knowledge of UI/UX principles, usability, responsive design, and design implementation.

Formal WCAG training and hands-on experience implementing and testing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Experience with accessibility testing tools, including JAWS and axe.

Experience working with enterprise design systems.

Recent experience with modern development frameworks and best practices within the last three years.

Experience with Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.

Working knowledge of SQL Server, REST APIs, and middleware integrations.

Experience supporting enterprise production applications.

Experience handling sensitive or classified data.

Mandatory submission requirement: Provide code samples or a portfolio demonstrating front-end development and UI work.

 

Preferred Qualifications Accessibility certifications such as IAAP WAS, CPACC, Trusted Tester, or equivalent formal training.

Experience supporting government or healthcare applications.

Experience with Angular, GitHub, and AWS services.

Experience modernizing existing enterprise applications.

Graduate degree in HCI or a related field.

Experience with enterprise-wide accessibility and design standardization initiatives.
