Enjoy figuring out how the data fits together? An unfamiliar database, a tricky conversion, a migration ready to run. If that sounds like your kind of work, we’d like to hear from you!

We’re looking for an Intermediate ETL Developer to join Pandell-ESG’s Project Services team. You’ll help customers move their data into our software and work alongside a strong team that’s ready to roll up their sleeves and help.

You’ll also have opportunities to take the technical lead on small to medium-sized projects and help other team members build their skills and confidence. It’s a role for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to take on more responsibility with a team behind them.

Your team Our Project Services team helps customers implement software across Pandell’s suite of more than 12 product groups. You’ll work with colleagues who understand the software and the business processes behind it, sharing ideas, and working through challenges together.

About Us: ESG, along with its subsidiary Pandell, is a global leader in energy software, providing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions that support companies across utilities, renewables, retail energy, and oil and gas.

Across North America and the UK, our combined platforms help teams manage key parts of their business, including billing, asset management, regulatory requirements, and geospatial data. These tools bring together the information and workflows teams rely on every day, making it easier to run operations and stay organized.

Through cloud-based technology and data-driven insights, we help energy companies navigate complex markets and continue progressing toward Net-Zero goals.

Life at Pandell-ESG We care about doing good work and being good people to work with. That means making room for questions, listening to different perspectives, and helping each other when the work gets complicated.

We want people to feel welcome, respected, and comfortable being themselves. You’ll have the trust, tools, and flexibility to do your work, along with support from your teammates.

Requirements What you’ll do:

  • Plan data migrations, turning project requirements into a technical approach
  • Write and run conversion scripts to move data between systems
  • Develop tools and make changes to our conversion frameworks to meet project needs
  • Get to know customers’ data and business processes, working through unfamiliar data models with support from senior teammates
  • Take the technical lead on small to medium-sized projects, helping plan the work, estimate effort, and keep technical tasks on track
  • Review code and test other developers’ work, with guidance when needed, to check that it meets project requirements and team standards
  • Troubleshoot issues during development, configuration, and performance tuning
  • Keep technical documentation clear and accurate, and talk through technical questions with colleagues
  • Help other developers build their skills and confidence through mentoring and feedback

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Oracle databases
  • Experience writing complex queries and data conversion scripts, with a solid understanding of database tables and how they relate to one another
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, C#, and PowerShell for ETL scripting and tool development
  • Experience with ETL processes, data migrations, and conversion frameworks, including writing and running scripts of moderate complexity
  • Experience building tools and making changes to existing frameworks
  • An understanding of relational and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle and how it applies to data conversion, configuration, and deployment
  • The ability to guide technical work on a project and review code against requirements and quality standards
  • Good judgement when planning your work, estimating how long tasks will take, and managing competing deadlines
