Job Description
About the role
Crown Home Buying & Letting is a boutique prime central London agency managing a portfolio of luxury properties. You will own every let from offer to move-in, ensure every let is fully compliant, check every document before it reaches a landlord, and handle first-line complaints, supporting the Lettings Manager to focus on landlords and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own and maintain the lettings progression and checklists, from instruction to move-in, and make sure every let follows them.
- Progress every let on time: Referencing, Right to Rent, holding deposits, tenancy agreements, deposit registration and check-in.
- Manage tenant referencing and check every reference report and tenancy agreement for accuracy before it goes to the landlord.
- Handle rent guarantee and guarantor claims: notify the insurer or guarantor, prepare arrears records and evidence, and follow each claim through to payment.
- Keep landlords updated at every stage of their let, and manage tenancy renewals and rent reviews.
- Compliance. Apply strong knowledge of the Renters’ Rights Act to make sure every let is compliant, using the right agreement for assured periodic tenancies (APT) and non-APT lets. Ensure all compliance certificates are in place, deposits are registered and prescribed information is sent on time.
- Handle complaints and difficult landlord and tenant situations calmly and firmly, resolving most yourself and escalating serious ones with a recommended solution.
- Make sure fees are recorded correctly on every let.
- Support the negotiators, deputise for the Lettings Manager, and report weekly on the pipeline.
- Carry out any other duties that fall within the scope of the role, as agreed with the Lettings Manager.
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in lettings progression or property management, ideally in central London.
- ARLA Propertymark Level 3 (or completing within 6 months).
- Strong knowledge of lettings law, including the Renters’ Rights Act, Tenant Fees Act and deposit protection.
- Experience with referencing and rent guarantee or guarantor claims.
- Exceptional attention to detail, and excellent written and spoken English.
- Firm but positive, confident in difficult conversations with landlords and tenants, calm under pressure and highly organised.
