About The Role GAI NOVACON is seeking a Java Fullstack Developer (all genders) to join its development team in Berlin. This position is available at the earliest possible date and can be performed from the Berlin office or through mobile working arrangements. You will help develop and maintain established software products and specialist applications used in real operational environments. Working across backend services and web-based frontends, you will turn business requirements into effective technical solutions and contribute ideas to the continued evolution of the company’s applications. You will collaborate with colleagues to build stable, maintainable software that supports customers over the long term. The position is offered as a permanent role, with full-time and part-time arrangements available.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance existing applications built with Java EE and Jakarta EE.
• Contribute to both backend development and web-based frontend implementation.
• Translate functional and business requirements into clear, dependable technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve established software products and specialist applications.
• Share your technical experience and ideas to support the ongoing development of the company’s systems and architecture.
• Work closely with the development team to deliver reliable, sustainable, and maintainable software.
• Use appropriate tools and technologies for the project, which may include JSF, PrimeFaces, Hibernate, Oracle, WildFly or JBoss, Maven, Liquibase, Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Remain open to new technologies and explore the use of artificial intelligence tools in software development.

Qualifications

• At least three years of professional experience in a comparable software development environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of Java EE or Jakarta EE.
• Experience working with JSF and practical experience in frontend development.
• Knowledge of ORM concepts and relational databases.
• Confidence using Git in a collaborative development environment.
• A degree in an IT-related field or an equivalent qualification.
• A sound understanding of modern software development practices, along with the ability to learn new technologies and subject areas.

You do not need to have experience with every technology in the company’s stack. Practical development experience, a strong technical foundation, and a willingness to learn are especially important.
