Working arrangement:  Office-based with regular field visits

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced, creative and commercially minded Social Media & Content Manager to take ownership of our social media presence across four distinctive brands.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply schedule posts or follow someone else’s content plan. We want someone who understands what makes social media effective, can develop a strategy, create outstanding content and turn ideas into measurable results.

You’ll have genuine creative freedom, direct access to products and customers, and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing international business.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have independently managed social media for a business and can demonstrate what they’ve achieved.

About Axus

Axus is part of a family-owned business supplying products across the painting, decorating, interiors, and construction industries.

We work across four brands:

  • Axus:  Innovative painting and decorating tools and accessories.
  • OLFA:  Japanese cutting and scraping tools for trade and creative professionals.
  • Mardom Decor:  Decorative architectural mouldings, wall panels and interior finishing products.
  • Pretty Boy Products:  Specialist paint-cleaning and conditioning products.

Our products are sold through retailers and distributors in the UK and international markets. We have strong industry relationships, exciting product developments and plenty of opportunities to create authentic, engaging content.

What you’ll do

Strategy and content planning

  • Develop and deliver social media strategies aligned with business and marketing objectives.
  • Take ownership of content calendars across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, prioritising the most relevant platforms.
  • Research audiences, competitors and trends to identify creative opportunities.
  • Manage priorities across our brands, campaigns, events and product launches.

Hands-on content creation

  • Plan, film and edit original short-form videos, including Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts.
  • Visit product users, retailers and events to capture authentic demonstrations, interviews, project stories and product experiences.
  • Produce engaging photography, graphics, carousels, captions and creative copy.
  • Develop inspiring interior and transformation content alongside practical, trade-focused videos.
  • Create reusable content and promotional assets for retailers, colleagues and international partners.

Community and relationships

  • Manage social media comments, messages and enquiries.
  • Engage proactively with our audiences and relevant professional communities.
  • Identify and coordinate collaborations with creators, influencers, customers and retailers.
  • Develop relationships that generate authentic content and strengthen our brands.

AI and digital marketing

  • Use AI intelligently to enhance research, creative development, video editing, copywriting, analytics and productivity.
  • Explore new tools and workflows while maintaining originality, authenticity and brand consistency.
  • Create email campaigns and support selected paid social advertising activity.

Reporting and improvement

  • Monitor social media and campaign performance.
  • Produce clear monthly reports with useful insights and recommendations.
  • Test creative approaches and use results to continually improve engagement, audience quality and commercial impact.

What we’re looking for

  • At least three years’ relevant professional social media marketing experience, or an equivalent proven track record.
  • Experience independently managing business or brand social media accounts from strategy through to execution and reporting.
  • Excellent hands-on video production skills, including filming and editing original content.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your individual creative contribution and measurable results.
  • A sound understanding of major social platforms, their audiences and effective content strategies.
  • Confidence using Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, Canva or equivalent creative software.
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted creative or marketing tools, combined with good judgement about when to use them.
