About The Role Method Grid is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to help deliver new features and significant releases for its SaaS platform. You will work as part of a close-knit development team and collaborate particularly closely with a backend engineer on feature development and delivery.

This is a remote role, supported by established practices for effective distributed collaboration. The team meets in person once a quarter for a two-day all-team Summit in Bath. You will join a high-performing engineering group that shares knowledge, supports colleagues, and values thoughtful, consistent delivery.

The role is suited to an experienced frontend developer who is confident building accessible, maintainable applications with Vue.js. You will contribute to technical decisions, help uphold engineering quality, and take an active role in delivering the product roadmap.

Qualifications You bring strong professional experience with Vue.js and a thorough understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You have worked with component-based architectures and can build user interfaces that are accessible, reliable, and straightforward to maintain.

You are familiar with Agile engineering practices and have practical experience with test-driven development (TDD); exposure to behaviour-driven development (BDD) is also valuable. You can communicate technical ideas clearly, work constructively with colleagues across disciplines, and provide supportive guidance when teammates encounter unfamiliar challenges.

Experience in a startup or scale-up environment is welcome but not essential. Curiosity, sound judgement, and an interest in exploring emerging technologies are important. Some full-stack exposure, especially experience debugging backend issues involving PHP or Python, would be beneficial, although frontend expertise is the priority.

Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and release high-quality frontend features for the Method Grid platform using Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Work closely with backend engineers and other colleagues to clarify requirements, plan implementation, and deliver product changes that meet customer needs.

Build and maintain reusable components, follow established engineering practices, and consider accessibility and usability throughout development. Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help identify opportunities to improve the application’s quality and maintainability.

Support regular releases and contribute to larger roadmap initiatives planned for 2027 and beyond. Investigate and resolve frontend issues, and collaborate on backend troubleshooting when appropriate. Share knowledge proactively and contribute to the team’s dedicated research and development time, which represents 10% of the development team’s week.
