Job Overview

We’re seeking a creative, collaborative Songwriter to develop original music and shape songs for online performance and recording. You’ll draw on musical knowledge, performance experience, and a range of instruments to create work that connects with listeners. This role may include writing music, collaborating with CEO, producing demos, and so on.

This is a pay per work job, you will be payed for what you do. This is not ran by a professional company. Once you reach out we will talk out pay and a plan.

Duties

• Write, revise, and arrange lyrics and melodies for original songs, including hymn music when appropriate.
• Select music and blend genres to suit the project, performers, and intended audience.
• Use musical improvisation and composition to develop ideas; harmonize melodies and read sheet music to support arrangements.
• Play or collaborate with performers using instruments such as guitar, drums, piano, or organ.
• Record and refine demos with a digital audio workstation (DAW), considering acoustic treatment and sound quality.
• Your impact: Thoughtful song selection and arrangements help performers deliver engaging music that resonates with audiences.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated songwriting ability and familiarity with musical instruments; ability to read sheet music is valuable.
• Knowledge of musical liturgy and hymn music is preferred, along with religious music performance experience.
• Concert music performance experience is an asset; theater experience is also welcome.
• Guitar playing is useful; experience playing drums, piano, or organ is a plus.
• Familiarity with a digital audio workstation, acoustic treatment, musical improvisation, harmonizing melodies, and music genre blending is beneficial.
