Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Building Automation Engineer – AI Factory based in the United States.

The Building Automation Engineer – AI Factory will play a key technical role in designing, integrating, and optimizing advanced building automation systems for mission-critical AI factory and data center environments. This position combines expertise in building management systems, industrial communication protocols, telemetry architecture, and digital integration to ensure reliable, high-performance infrastructure operations. You will connect building management platforms with power monitoring systems, programmable logic controllers, data center infrastructure management tools, and digital twin environments. Working across engineering teams and technology partners, you will develop scalable monitoring solutions, optimize control strategies, and improve operational visibility. You will also contribute to feasibility studies, automation concepts, and simulation-based testing to advance cooling and computing system efficiency. This remote opportunity offers the chance to shape next-generation infrastructure through innovative automation, intelligent monitoring, and data-driven optimization.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead building automation integration: Design, implement, and optimize Building Management System (BMS) solutions for mission-critical AI factory and data center facilities, ensuring reliable monitoring and control of essential building infrastructure.
  • Develop scalable telemetry architectures: Create robust architectures capable of handling high-volume, high-frequency operational data while meeting strict latency, bandwidth, reliability, and performance requirements.
  • Integrate critical infrastructure platforms: Connect BMS environments with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, and digital twin solutions to enable seamless data exchange and coordinated operations.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols: Implement and troubleshoot integrations using MQTT, REST APIs, OPC UA, BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, and other relevant industrial communication technologies.
  • Optimize monitoring and visualization: Define and implement scalable alarm management strategies, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and visualization frameworks that provide actionable operational insights without compromising system performance.
  • Support cooling and computing optimization: Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate technologies for data center cooling and computing system control, with a focus on energy efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Develop automation concepts and solutions: Lead the conceptual design of integrated automation and control offerings, collaborating with technology partners to develop innovative solutions for advanced infrastructure environments.
  • Implement proof-of-concept and demonstration projects: Build, test, and validate pilot implementations with partners to demonstrate technical feasibility, interoperability, and performance.
  • Design and validate control sequences: Develop, simulate, and test sequences of control using tools such as Siemens Amesim and TIA Portal to validate system behavior and optimize automation performance.
  • Strengthen digital integration: Support the flow of operational data into digital twin platforms and other advanced analytics environments, improving system observability and enabling more intelligent facility management.
  • Improve system reliability and efficiency: Identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure monitoring, reduce operational inefficiencies, and strengthen the performance and resilience of integrated building systems.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders: Work closely with engineering teams, solution architects, and external partners to resolve integration challenges, align technical requirements, and deliver scalable automation solutions.
  • Support technical innovation: Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to the development of repeatable engineering practices that improve the deployment and operation of AI factory infrastructure.
