Software Development Engineer AI-Native

Key job responsibilities

Use AI coding agents as your default first move for writing, reading, testing, debuggingand documenting code.

Frame problems clearly and write specifications that both teammates and agents canbuild from.

Break features into well-scoped tasks for agents, run them in parallel where possible,and integrate the results.

Review and verify all AI-generated code with rigor: correctness, edge cases, security, performance and maintainability.

Own features end to end design, build, test, deploy, monitor and iterate.

Design and maintain a codebase that humans and agents can both work in effectively: strong tests, consistent patterns, fast feedback loops and up-to-date context files.

Build and share reusable prompts, skills and workflows that raise the whole team’s productivity.

Review teammates’ code promptly and give clear, actionable feedback.

Follow security and data guardrails for AI tool use, including keeping secrets and customer data out of agent context.

Identify bugs in AI-generated code through review, testing and production monitoring,and trace each one to its root cause.

Recommend and implement fixes, and update agent context files and review checklists so the same class of bug isn’t generated again.

Introduce and own an automated testing framework (unit, integration and end-to-end)that runs in CI on every change.

Build regression suites from real incidents, so every bug found becomes a test that keeps it from coming back.

Track quality signals such as escaped defects, flaky tests and incident rates, and drive them down over time.

Basic qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

3+ years of programming with at least one software programming language

Experience designing, building and operating production software, including testing,deployment and monitoring

Experience using AI coding assistants or agents as part of daily development work

Experience reviewing code for correctness, security and maintainability

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred qualifications

Track record of using AI agents for the full development loop: writing, reading, testing,debugging and documenting code

Experience writing clear specifications and design docs that others people or agents .

Experience making a codebase or workflow more agent-friendly, such as improving tests, CI speed, conventions or context files (for example, CLAUDE.md )

Experience running multiple agent tasks in parallel and integrating their output

Experience building and sharing reusable prompts, skills or developer tooling

Knowledge of system design fundamentals: APIs, data storage, scalability and reliability

Experience building features that use LLMs, including evals, fallbacks and cost controls.

Experience introducing automated testing frameworks and CI quality gates, and building regression suites that catch issues in AI-generated code
