Full Stack Developer

Company Description Superfan.ng is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The platform uses a gamified, quiz-first approach to help users explore African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the global diaspora, Superfan.ng aims to make learning engaging, interactive, and relevant. Team members contribute to building tools that preserve and promote African heritage through accessible digital experiences.

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Full Stack Developer at Superfan.ng. The Full Stack Developer will design, build, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of the platform, ensuring smooth, responsive, and reliable user experiences. Daily tasks include implementing new features, integrating APIs, optimizing application performance, and resolving technical issues across the stack. The role also involves collaborating with product, design, and content teams to translate learning and gamification requirements into scalable technical solutions, writing clean and testable code, and participating in code reviews and continuous improvement of the development process.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development skills, including proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
• Candidates should possess solid Back-End Web Development skills, such as working with server-side languages, frameworks, and databases.
• Candidates should possess Full-Stack Development and general Software Development skills, with experience building and deploying web applications end-to-end.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, version control systems (e.g., Git), and cloud-based deployment environments is beneficial.
• Knowledge of responsive design, UI/UX best practices, and performance optimization for web applications is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with a distributed team, and manage tasks in an agile environment.
• Interest in edtech, language learning, or African cultures and diaspora communities is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
