About The Role We are looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to take full ownership of Brainblast’s mobile app, from early prototypes through launch and ongoing development. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates worldwide. As the sole engineer and developer, you will lead both front-end and back-end implementation, shape technical decisions, and work closely with the team to turn ambitious ideas into a polished product.

You will build an asynchronous social game where students solve and send math problems to friends, as well as a short-form video course experience inspired by familiar content platforms. You will also help create the systems that deliver questions, track learning progress, and make it easier for users to identify areas for improvement. This role suits a proactive builder who enjoys moving quickly, working independently, and contributing ideas—not just implementing a predefined plan.

Qualifications We are seeking a resourceful engineer with at least three years of professional software development experience focused on iOS and a record of shipping at least one iOS app professionally. You should be confident taking a product from concept to release and balancing speed, reliability, and a high-quality user experience.

• Professional experience developing native iOS applications with Swift.
• Working knowledge of iOS frameworks and technologies, such as UIKit, Core Data, and Core Animation.
• Familiarity with iOS SDK performance tools, debugging, and app optimization.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and other third-party services.
• Knowledge of video streaming and mobile video optimization.
• Familiarity with Firebase or comparable backend solutions.
• Experience building analytics, animations, or gamified product features.
• Strong ownership, creative problem-solving skills, and a bias toward action.

Responsibilities

• Own the development, launch, maintenance, and continued improvement of the Brainblast iOS app.
• Build rapid prototypes for internal testing, targeting two to three iterations per week.
• Develop an asynchronous game experience that lets users solve math problems and challenge friends.
• Implement analytics that measure student progress and help learners recognize knowledge gaps.
• Format, organize, and integrate question banks into the application.
• Build a reliable content delivery system for a TikTok-style mobile video course.
• Optimize performance, usability, and interactions to create a fast, engaging learning experience.
• Maintain scalable, understandable code through thoughtful testing, documentation, and code review.
• Identify opportunities to improve the product and contribute ideas that advance the team’s vision.
