Optomi is partnering with a leading company in roadside assistance and insurance to recruit an AI Software Engineer. The organization is investing in AI-driven solutions to improve customer service, streamline internal processes, and support evolving business needs.

About the Role

The AI Software Engineer will develop and enhance Generative AI applications, including customer service chatbots, HR systems, web scraping solutions, and agentic AI initiatives. This role combines greenfield development with improvements to existing applications, with a focus on building production-ready AI solutions that improve efficiency and reduce customer service calls.

The position suits an engineer who can adapt to changing project priorities, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a fully remote opportunity with working hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance applications that integrate with large language models (LLMs) and Generative AI services.
• Build AI-powered solutions, including customer service chatbots, HR applications, web scraping tools, and agentic AI initiatives.
• Translate user and business requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
• Create prototypes, write code, and prepare technical documentation in accordance with information systems (IS) standards.
• Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve development issues throughout the software development lifecycle and after implementation.
• Support CI/CD processes and model and data pipelines.
• Maintain the quality and reliability of assigned deliverables.
• Contribute to new AI projects while improving and maintaining existing applications as business priorities evolve.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mid-level software engineering experience with Python.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade Generative AI and LLM solutions.
• Knowledge of large language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and Responsible AI concepts.
• Familiarity with Python-based LLM application frameworks such as LangChain.
• Experience with cloud services, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience working with Generative AI frameworks and services such as OpenAI and Vertex AI.
