AI Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA) is searching for an experienced AI Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier Insurance clients in Hartford, CT to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions into production. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills, hands-on experience implementing AI and machine learning solutions, and the ability to take solutions from concept through deployment within the client’s Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

This individual will bring practical AI expertise to the team, helping build scalable, production-ready solutions that address business needs. Experience with generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Build, integrate, and deploy AI applications and services using Python and relevant AI/ML technologies.
• Deploy and maintain AI solutions within GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps best practices for deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise applications, systems, and workflows.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify AI opportunities and deliver practical, production-ready solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience developing and deploying AI solutions into production environments.
• Strong Python development skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience deploying applications and AI solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices.
• Experience with Java development and enterprise application integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support production applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Familiarity with agentic AI, AI agents, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience with LLMOps, model monitoring, evaluation, and AI application optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, APIs, containers, and automated deployment tools.
