About us
Big Fridge Compressor House and All Is Joy are creative event spaces and communities, hosting everything from brand activations and private hire to screenings, workshops and cultural events. Each space has its own character, and each depends on a team that can make a venue feel welcoming, run smoothly and look effortless on the night.
We are looking for a capable, personable Event Manager to be the day-to-day heartbeat of both venues:
the person clients meet first, the person the production crew rely on, and the person who keeps the diary, the details and the guest experience running to a high standard.
This is a hands-on role at the centre of our operations. You will manage the venues day to day, look after clients from first enquiry through to event close, and own the logistics that turn a booking into a great event. You will be organised, calm under pressure and equally comfortable talking to a brand director, a caterer or a security team.

- Build warm, professional relationships with clients, partners and hirers, acting as their main point of contact before, during and after events
- Conduct site visits and walk-throughs, presenting each venue’s capabilities with confidence
- Understand client briefs, advise on layouts, timings, capacities and technical set-ups, and manage expectations realistically
- Handle feedback and resolve issues quickly and diplomatically
- Maintain strong relationships with repeat clients to encourage rebooking
New enquiries
- Respond promptly to all new venue enquiries by email, phone and in person
- Qualify leads, understand requirements, and prepare quotes, proposals and licence or booking paperwork in line with agreed pricing and terms
- Track enquiries through to confirmation using our CRM or booking system, following up proactively
- Work with the General Manager on pricing, packages and commercial opportunities
Event logistics
- Plan and coordinate all event logistics: load-ins and load-outs, run sheets, floor plans, technical requirements, catering, staffing and suppliers
- Liaise with production crews, AV providers, caterers, security and other third parties to deliver events to brief and on schedule
- Produce clear event documentation and pre-event briefings for the team
- Be present on site during events to troubleshoot, make decisions and keep everything on track
- Run post-event debriefs, reconcile costs and capture learnings
Diary management
- Manage the booking diary for both venues, avoiding clashes and protecting set-up and turnaround time
- Coordinate holds, confirmations, cancellations and changes accurately, keeping the General Manager informed of the forward schedule
- Balance competing demands across both spaces, including any existing occupancy or licence arrangements
- Keep internal calendars, shared systems and client communications aligned and up to date
