Overview

Verify Website X Compliance Services helps businesses meet accessibility, privacy, and regulatory standards for their websites. We believe compliance and great design go hand in hand—a site should be both fully accessible and genuinely enjoyable to use. We’re a small, focused Toronto-based team, and we’re looking for a developer who cares about craft as much as compliance.

The Role

As our Graphic Web Developer, you’ll design and build clean, accessible, and compliant web experiences for our clients. You’ll work at the intersection of visual design and front-end development—creating layouts, graphics, and components, then bringing them to life in code. Because compliance is our business, you’ll ensure every build meets accessibility standards (WCAG) and regulatory requirements. This is a fully remote role, with occasional virtual team meetings and flexibility to work from anywhere in Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive, accessible websites and web components for clients
• Create graphics, icons, and visual assets that align with client branding
• Build and maintain front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with a focus on clean, semantic markup
• Audit websites for accessibility and compliance issues; implement fixes and improvements
• Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all deliverables meet WCAG and regulatory standards
• Test sites across browsers and devices; troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain documentation and contribute to internal design and development standards

Skills

• 2+ years of experience in web design and front-end development
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and best practices
• Strong eye for visual design, typography, and layout
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser testing
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote environment
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Assets

• Experience with accessibility auditing tools (e.g., axe, WAVE, Lighthouse)
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)
• Knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., PIPEDA, AODA) as they relate to web
• Portfolio demonstrating accessible, well-designed web work
