Public - Responsibilities

• Inventory all Clarity customizations: custom tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages and linked servers, capturing owner, last modified and last executed (Query Store, DMVs, Agent history).
• Inventory all Caboodle customizations: custom data marts, custom dimensions, facts and extensions, custom DMCs and their ETL, and any modified Epic DMCs (via Caboodle Console metadata).
• Identify all non-Epic data loaded onto these servers (finance, HR, benchmarking, payer, state files) and any non-Epic databases or applications co-located on them.
• Inventory downstream consumers: Power BI datasets, dataflows, semantic models and reports (via tenant/admin metadata), SSRS and Paginated Reports, ODBC/Excel connections, and scheduled extracts or SFTP feeds to third parties and registries.
• Inventory security objects (AD groups, SQL logins, service accounts, row-level security, Analytics Catalog) and capture the workload profile (ETL window, peak query load, longest-running jobs).
• Classify every object into one of four buckets: Epic-released/moves as-is · custom and cloud-compatible · custom requiring rework or relocation to the enterprise lakehouse · retire.
• Package the classified inventory, consumer counts and workload profile for Epic; support Epic’s technical assessment and pricing; draft the decision paper comparing hosted vs. on-prem expansion (5-year TCO, Connect scalability, constraints on custom work, timeline risk against the Connect build calendar).

Public - Required Skills

• Epic Certifications: Active certification in Epic Clarity Data Model and Epic Caboodle Data Model .
• Database Engineering Depth: Advanced SQL Server DBA acumen, with demonstrated expertise querying Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), Query Store, SQL Server Agent job histories, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Console Expertise: Hands-on operational experience with the Epic Caboodle Console and Clarity administration tools.
• BI Platform Administration: Working knowledge of Power BI administration (tenant metadata analysis, gateway architecture, data-source mapping, and semantic model lineage).
• Communication & Advisory: Demonstrated ability to translate deep technical metrics into clear business-case documentation and executive readouts.

Public - Preferred Skills

• Direct prior experience assessing or executing an Epic Cogito Cloud migration or Epic-hosted infrastructure transition.
• Working knowledge of modern data stack architectures (Enterprise Data Lakehouses, Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse) for workload offloading.
• Prior experience within a multi-entity health system or Community Connect hub-and-spoke analytics model.
