Job Description
About the Job
Cypress HCM is seeking an agile and highly visual UX/Visual Designer to support the digital experiences and creative initiatives of a leading entertainment and media company. This role focuses on web design, scalable design-system components, visual assets, and emerging AI-powered creative tools.
The ideal candidate can move quickly from initial concepts to polished, production-ready designs while independently solving design challenges and maintaining high quality under tight deadlines. The designer will contribute to B2B, SaaS, entertainment, digital merchandising, and upper-funnel e-commerce experiences, with a strong emphasis on improving business-facing websites and developing reusable design components.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve digital experiences for business-facing websites and other digital properties.
- Create reusable design-system components and patterns using Figma.
- Identify and solve visual and user experience design challenges efficiently.
- Source, generate, edit, and manipulate imagery using traditional and AI-powered creative tools.
- Explore and integrate emerging AI tools and workflows into the design process.
- Translate concepts into polished, production-ready designs within tight timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to develop effective creative solutions.
- Support B2B, SaaS, and web-based product experiences.
- Develop creative assets for entertainment, sports, seasonal campaigns, and digital merchandising initiatives.
- Contribute to upper-funnel e-commerce and retail experiences, focusing on discovery and engagement rather than transactional checkout.
- Participate in A/B testing and user-testing initiatives when appropriate.
- Communicate design decisions clearly and present the rationale behind creative solutions to stakeholders.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, AI-powered creative tools, and evolving design practices.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, Visual Designer, Digital Designer, or in a similar role.
- Several years of hands-on experience working with Figma.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking, problem-solving, and the process behind design decisions—not just finished visuals.
- Experience designing websites and digital products.
- Experience creating reusable design-system components and patterns.
- Strong visual design skills and an understanding of modern web experiences.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities, and deliver quality designs under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain design decisions and creative processes.
- Comfort working collaboratively with stakeholders and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-powered design tools and creative technologies.
- A demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
- Experience designing B2B or SaaS products and digital experiences.
- Background in entertainment, media, television, sports, retail, or e-commerce.
- Experience with digital merchandising and large-scale consumer or business-facing websites.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and user-testing methodologies.
- Experience creating AI-generated or AI-enhanced imagery.
- Experience supporting customer-facing or client-driven design initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a proactive, adaptable designer who can balance speed, creativity, and quality. They enjoy solving complex design problems, moving between different types of creative projects, and experimenting with new tools and technologies.
A genuine interest in AI-driven design innovation is important. Experience in entertainment and television, along with exposure to B2B, SaaS, digital merchandising, or upper-funnel e-commerce, will be particularly valuable.
Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to static graphic design, who have outdated Figma skills, or who are uncomfortable adopting new technologies may not be a good fit for this role.
